Summary: 

 

This position receives, stores, and distributes materials to the plant. Loads and unloads trailers, moves semi-trailers, and drives semi’s between our Bay City plant, and our warehouse in Portland.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

 

  • Required to maintain daily, all required DOT and CDL logs, inspections and documentation.
  • Read production schedule or requisition to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
  • Conveys materials and items from receiving or production areas to storage or to other designated areas.
  • Sorts and places materials or items on pallets, racks or shelves.
  • Marks materials with identifying information.
  • Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed.
  • Enters records into computer system; Maintains inventory records.
  • Operates pallet jacks or forklifts to transport items.
  • Drives truck between Bay City Plant and Tillamook Warehouse.
  • Occasionally will drive truck to warehouse in the Portland area.
  • May be required to sort and segregate product.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by management.

 

Qualifications: 

 

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Prior CDL driving experience; Maintain valid CDL license.
  • Forklift license and/or certification.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively communicate with other employees in the organization.
  • Ability to count, add, subtract, multiply and divide with the use of a calculator.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with simple problems that arise at work.
  • To perform this job an individual should have knowledge of internet software, inventory software, and spreadsheet software.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

 

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand/walk constantly; use of hands, wrist and arms continually, ability to reach at or above shoulder occasionally, below shoulder frequently.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds; boxes weighing 50 – 60# occasionally, lifts over 60# require two employees.
  • The employee may regularly move product racks in excess of 500# in/out of trailers and coolers via push/pull and use of pallet jacks.
  • While performing the duties of the job, the employee is occasionally exposed to cold and wet conditions, moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, extreme cold, and extreme heat.
